A few months ago I was called to an over excited Rottweiler who was scaring the family's toddler and in danger of knocking her over by being too boisterous. Today I received a message on my Facebook..
The message, from dog training client Dave Jeffery from Northampton, said:
"Hi Graeme… Hope you are well.. Check out the short video on my page of Rebecca training Rotten. That's all thanks to you.. Cheers mate!"
Rotten's the Rottie (Actually he's anything but!) and Rebecca is the aforementioned little girl. Hang on, I thought – Is that right? It certainly is, and the video clip on YouTube made my day. I keep replaying it and it makes me smile every time. He looks so calm and happy to please Rebecca – and she, in turn, looks far from scared of him now. What a good ambassador for the breed he's turning out to be, a proper gentle giant! Check it out here:

(Needless to say that Dave and Rebecca's Mum Sarah are supervising because I'd never advocate leaving children alone with any dog unsupervised, whatever the breed and however much you think you can trust them.)
- Well done Dave, Sarah and Rebecca – and not forgetting Rotten himself – Have a special Dogfather 'round of appaws'..!
Graeme
P.S. If you have a dog that's over-excited and you'd like a calm version of your dog instead, I can probably help! Contact me here.
